July 12, 2017 – Captains for Clean Water is proud to announce Reid McKinstry of Mustad Hooks has joined their Board of Directors! After a major state legislative victory in 2017, Captains for Clean Water is expanding it’s Everglades program to include advocacy at a federal level, while continuing to work at state and local levels. Captains for Clean Water was founded just 18 months ago and engaged tens of thousands of anglers who helped secure $800 million for a critical Everglades restoration project.
“We’re proud to announce the addition of Reid McKinstry to our Board of Directors. Reid’s concern for the issue along with his success within the fishing industry makes him a perfect fit for our board”, said Daniel Andrews, co-founder of Captains for Clean Water. “Reid’s business acumen will further increase the growth of Captains for Clean Water. We’ve kept the board small, with just 5 founding members so far. Now we are expanding, and extending our first board invitation to Reid McKinstry due to his and Mustad’s commitment to the issue since the very beginning.”
Said Reid McKinstry: “I can only hope that my position within the Fishing Tackle industry will continue to provide a unique perspective on the ever-changing landscape of the industry, people and issues. My connections will open up new opportunities for growth. I will continue to promote and provide as much insight as possible to make the organization successful. I will ensure the Board of Directors does everything possible to put CFCW in the best possible position to grow and achieve the goals put forth by both the Executive team and Board of Directors. My goals in those are inherently personal as my career security relies on the percentage of people fishing to continue to grow as a recreational activity and that can only be achieved by protecting the fundamental resource of clean water. At Mustad, we have a saying, ‘Land covers 28% percent of our Planet and Mustad covers the Rest!'”
