Calling all U.S. Skiff Manufacturers! Do you have what it takes to accept the ultimate endurance challenge?
The Florida Skiff Challenge began as a head-to-head battle for bragging rights and, today, has evolved into a daring feat to help shine a spotlight on Florida’s water crisis by those who’ve been directly affected by it—boat manufacturers.
Participating teams circumnavigate 1,300 miles non-stop around the state of Florida in 18-foot skiffs, putting their boats and best teams to the ultimate test for the sake of the Everglades. 100% of funds raised benefit Captains For Clean Water and our mission to restore and protect Florida’s estuaries through education, advocacy, and science-based solutions.
MISSION STATEMENT
The Skiff Challenge is a unique platform for the outdoor and marine industries to advance the fight for clean water and healthy estuaries and provides a pathway for people to learn more, get involved, and speak up.
We believe that we can’t rely on others to protect our natural resources. We must be the ones to step up and fight for what we love—our way of life depends on it.
APPLICATION PROCESS
If interested in joining the 2022 Skiff Challenge, first review the qualifying criteria, code of ethics, and rules below. If you qualify, please fill out the application at the bottom of the page. Applicants who do not meet the qualifying criteria will not be accepted.
Each team member is expected to conduct themselves with the utmost professional courtesy toward other team members, teams, sponsors, representatives, viewers, and supporters. The Florida Skiff Challenge has the right to refuse any builder or team from participating in the event due to unsportsmanlike conduct or what may be deemed as unprofessional conduct or behavior.
In order to apply to participate in the Florida Skiff Challenge, you must meet all of the following criteria:
- You are a U.S. boat manufacturer engaged in the full-time pursuit of manufacturing and selling a line of boats.
- You have a Coast Guard Manufacturer ID issued at least one year ago.
- You are an active, state-registered business that is able to provide documentation for verification.
- Your company currently builds the participating skiff model in production and currently offers for sale the skiff model entered. Prototypes are not allowed.
- You are not a hobby builder. Kit boats are not allowed.
